Dear Dr. Merriam:
From your letter it seems that only one box of specimens
was received. There were two large boxes and I do not remember in
which one the beat skulls were placed. If the other box has not come,

and her three cubs. . I should have called the old beer Ursus phaeomys.

I assumed that because goats were protected by the law in February and March they would be classed under "protected animals" and also the deer. This would reauire a hunting license to shoot either Bage 4, line 12-15 seemed to me to suggest it. As to ha ving the bear skin tanned it is all right but I shall insist on paying for at least part of it.
